About me

I’m Geneviève Angela Baldassarre, a therapist, yoga teacher, and educator based in the sunshine filled Canary Islands. In my free time, I’m happiest at the beach yoga flowing, surfing, snorkelling, and working on my art projects.
My loved ones have several nicknames for me, including Gigi, Gen, Evie, and more. However, since establishing myself and my business in Europe, everyone calls me Eva!
If you already call me something else, please feel free to continue with that. 🙂

My mission

My goal is to offer a holistic approach to health and healing, and to help people cultivate more security and connection.
I also want to make psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness more relatable and accessible. Along the way, I’d love to help normalise mental health, contribute to ending the stigma surrounding it, and educate people. A key piece here is also to bring health and educational support to underserved communities.
Another big focus for me is to redefine holistic wellbeing by considering the whole person and the world. Because how we treat ourselves matters. Equally, how we treat the world and all beings also matters. On top of my passion for yoga and psychology, I am passionate about our planet. This has lead me to practice zero-waste at home and get involved with environmental and ocean conservation organisations.

My training

I have been studying psychology since 2011, and hold a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. The framework at the heart of my continuous research and work integrates interpersonal neurobiology and yoga therapy, as well as how mindfulness-based practices and clinical approaches can be most effective in holistic health and healing. Along with this, I use different therapeutic modalities in my practice, based on the needs of my clients.
I am also a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher with over 10 years of experience as a yogi. I’ve completed advanced trainings in teaching ashtanga vinyasa flow and therapeutic yoga. Since 2019, I’ve been teaching yoga in both private and group settings around the world. My classes include different styles and explore various aspects of yoga, including restorative yoga, meditation, anatomy, and yoga philosophy.
As a therapist, I specialise in working with relational trauma and anxiety in order to help people build healthy relationships with themselves and others. As a yoga teacher, I work with students to help them build strength and cultivate ease through correct alignment and a deep understanding of yogic practices.

A personal note

Many moons ago, I was going through a difficult time in my life, when feeling security and trust inside myself was quite challenging. Moving through the grief and betrayal felt overwhelming. Eventually, I healed, rebuild myself, and learned to develop acceptance, forgiveness, self-compassion, and self-love. Ultimately, I had to make big decisions and distance myself from certain situations and end toxic relationships. Over time, I did indeed grow to be resilient and cultivate security within myself, build healthy relationships with others, and fill my life with love.
We all have our own journey and path in life. We all deserve to love and be loved for who we truly are. If I can, I would love to help you discover your version of fulfilment and peace.

And now…in a nutshell

Having quit my corporate path to pursue a life more in alignment with my passions and values, I am now a therapist, yoga teacher, and educator, which is work I believe I am meant to be doing.
After more than 50 countries explored, countless experiences, and over a decade of work, I’ve co-created a lovely life with my husband Tomas in the Canary Islands. I’ve built my dream business and have the pleasure of connecting with wonderful people around the world.
Though we enjoyed life in our London city home, we found an island beach life to be idyllic for us. We prefer soft and subtle season changes with extra sunshine all year. We visit winter wonderlands when we fancy a fix. Once every year or so… 😉 Otherwise, we hang around the Canary and Mediterranean islands, and other places in the world visiting loved ones and for overall good vibes. In my free time, I love yoga flowing, surfing, snorkelling, hiking, and more fun stuff!
Tomas and I are very involved with environmental and ocean conservation organisations, as well as work at shelters and educational centres. We do what we can to give back and actively take part in supporting our community. These are honestly our favourite projects. We try to do this at home and where we travel.

You can contact me for more info if you want to get involved too!

Some background

In Canada, I graduated with a major in Art History and one in Psychology before completing my Master’s in Brand Strategy and Marketing in London. Once I finished grad school the first time, and completed my Yoga Teacher Training, I went back to grad school to complete my Master’s in Clinical Psychology, became a psychotherapist, and built my private practice offering therapy and yoga.

When I first started college, I fell in love with teaching though coaching soccer and teaching dance. Eventually, I shifted toward academic tutoring and built my own practice in Montreal, and then in London. To this day, I am love learning languages and can speak five. I also still teach English and French.

The more I taught, the more I learned, and this brought me closer to my current work. Our need for healing is clear and necessary, now more than ever. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in clinics, schools, crisis centres, and in my own practice as an educator and clinician. I now get to balance therapeutic and educational work, which is a perfect fit for me.

The way we relate to others and ourselves is based on our experiences and how these flow through us. I love teaching the science behind our experiences and translating this into mindful understanding and conscious steps forward. Once we have the right resources, we can hold space for ourselves and create new patterns. In other words, we can build resilience and hold our own as we experience life.

When we can cultivate more security within ourselves, we can build safe and loving relationships. The journey is yours, but you don’t have to go it alone.
